Safeguarding

Keeping people safe

Softclue Data Empowerment CIC is committed to protecting the welfare of every adult and young person who takes part in the Hub.

Our commitment

Everyone who takes part in the Hub has the right to feel safe, respected and included. Safeguarding is everybody's responsibility and applies equally to in-person sessions, online sessions and one-to-one support.

How we work

  • • A named Designated Safeguarding Lead oversees all concerns and referrals.
  • • Facilitators, mentors and volunteers receive safeguarding induction and training.
  • • DBS checks are carried out where a role requires them.
  • • One-to-one support follows agreed procedures and is never unsupervised where a risk is identified.
  • • Concerns are recorded confidentially and escalated to statutory services where necessary.

Safe and responsible AI use

Because the Hub teaches AI tools, we include online safety, data protection, misinformation and responsible use in every AI session. Participants are supported never to share personal or sensitive information with AI tools.

Raising a concern

If you are worried about the safety or wellbeing of anyone connected to the Hub, speak to a facilitator or contact us directly. If someone is in immediate danger, always call the emergency services first.
